TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS to take place earlier in 2027
(Ismaning/Dortmund, May 12, 2026) The seventh TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS will take place earlier next year at Messe Dortmund than it did in 2026: Instead of mid-April, the curated event will be held in the Ruhr metropolis on January 26 and 27, 2027. Stand bookings are now open, and exhibitor information is available on the event website. The organizers of the format once again expect more than 100 innovations from logistics, intralogistics and robotics from around the world in the test hall.
“With the new date, we are returning to the schedule used before the coronavirus pandemic. It has the advantage that visitors will be able to test selected new products right at the beginning of the year, which will then be gradually showcased at the major international trade fairs throughout the year,” emphasizes Thilo Jörgl from the management of the event. Around 800 guests attended the last TEST CAMP held in mid-April.
The next edition of the event will once again cover a broad range of topics. Whether it is a test drive with a forklift truck, collaborating with a cobot or trying out software solutions – TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS is entirely focused on hands-on testing of selected new developments. Decision-makers from retail, industry and the service sector with an interest in innovation and investment will once again have the opportunity to test the exhibited products themselves and learn about the most important trends. They will also be able to take part in themed guided highlight tours and expand their network during the networking night.
TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS also provides the exclusive setting for the audit of the finalists of the International Intralogistics and Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY) AWARD. As part of the innovation award, they undergo a series of different tests. The jury, consisting of members from 19 countries, thoroughly tests the equipment and solutions on site. The application phase for the award runs from June 1 to September 25, 2026. Interested companies can already register now at ifoy.org.
Following its successful premiere as part of TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS, the German Material Flow Congress (MFK) will once again take place during the event. During its 34th edition, suppliers, users, consultants, planners and researchers will gather in a specially designed event cube within the test hall for an intensive exchange on new developments and forward-looking technologies. The professional sponsor is the VDI Society Production and Logistics. The congress is supported by the Chair of Materials Handling, Material Flow and Logistics (fml) at Technical University of Munich. For around three decades, the congress was based at the university’s Garching campus.
Under the guiding theme “Driving Intralogistics Beyond Limits,” the congress focuses on technologies and process strategies that go beyond traditional automation. The spotlight is on robotics, connected systems and artificial intelligence that not only automate processes, but also control them intelligently, are capable of learning, act autonomously and redefine the integration of humans into operations.
Prof. Dr. Johannes Fottner, congress chairman and head of the Chair of Materials Handling, Material Flow and Logistics (fml), sees a clear advantage in integrating the congress into the Dortmund test event: “In Garching, we discussed technologies whose level of maturity had to be imagined. In Dortmund, what is being discussed is less than fifty meters away – operating, under load, tangible and open to scrutiny. This is not a departure from academic tradition. It is its logical extension in a direction this congress has needed for a long time.”
German Material Flow Congress (MFK)
The German Material Flow Congress (MFK) has established itself as a central meeting point for the intralogistics industry. The professional sponsor is the VDI Society Production and Logistics. The two-day event is one of Germany’s leading platforms for exchange, knowledge transfer and networking among manufacturers, users, planners and researchers in this sector of the economy. Each year, the congress highlights a current key theme, brought to life through presentations and panel discussions with experts from research and industry. A permanent part of the program is formed by practical presentations covering topics such as digitalization, automation and sustainability.
Under the guiding theme “Driving Intralogistics Beyond Limits,” MFK @TEST CAMP 2027 focuses on technologies and strategies that go beyond traditional automation. The spotlight is on artificial intelligence, robotics and connected systems that not only automate processes, but also control them intelligently, learn, act autonomously and redefine the integration of humans into operations. The congress examines how these developments can be translated into practical and economically viable solutions – with concrete use cases, the latest research findings and room for controversial discussions.
