Premiere: In cooperation with AutoStore and Nomagic, TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS is offering two visitor groups an exclusive one-hour guided tour in German and English through the Arvato facility in Dortmund. Date: April 16, 2026, starting at 4:00 p.m. at Arvato. From 3:30 p.m., a shuttle service will be available at the exit of Westfalenhalle.

Important: Only individuals in possession of a valid ticket can register for this free tour via the “Change ticket” link. The number of tickets is limited. Admission is granted only with an Arvato tour ticket and a valid ID card.

Background: Arvato operates a modern multi-user facility in Dortmund serving several clients from the fashion industry. In 2021, an AutoStore warehouse system was installed there, making it one of the largest in the region. The system consists of a modular three-dimensional grid with self-supporting storage bins that are retrieved by robots and delivered to picking stations. It ensures optimal use of available space and requires up to 75 percent less space compared to conventional shelving warehouses.

The approximately 240,000 bins stacked in blocks provide space for more than two million items. The storage and retrieval process is carried out by 379 battery-powered R5 robots that move on a rectangular guiding grid, which serves as a track on top of the system. In addition to the AutoStore system, a narrow-aisle warehouse for bulky items was installed in the existing hall, and the existing shelving system was adapted for hanging garments. Another highlight: The facility integrates an intelligent picking robot from the Polish manufacturer Nomagic, which can both pick items from the AutoStore system and return goods back into storage.
