TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS 2025: Fifth edition draws to a successful close

The TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS 2025 has come to an end with numerous product premieres and highlights. More than 1,050 participants traveled to the fifth edition of the event at Messe Dortmund to test numerous new international developments from the fields of intralogistics, robotics and transport. The exhibitors, including the finalists of the International Intralogistics and Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY) AWARD 2025, took more than 100 innovations with them to the Ruhr metropolis. A wide range of solutions for intralogistics and the transport sector were available to B2B visitors on around 10,000 square meters: from forklift trucks and automated warehouse technology devices to drones, mobile robots, logistics software and high-tech specials from Europe, the USA and China.

The twelve guided highlight tours, during which the manufacturers presented their innovations in three-minute presentations, were once again visitor magnets. One of the special features of the format is that the guests, logistics decision-makers from industry, trade and contract logistics, are taken on tours to all the exhibitors. Numerous delegations from associations and logistics initiatives from the entire DACH region also traveled to Dortmund.

The Logistics & Robotics Conference was also well attended. More than 40 international speakers gave presentations there - more than ever before. Participants were particularly interested in best-practice examples from companies such as BMW, Dr. Max and IKEA, as well as the future trends presented by scientists from Fraunhofer IML and ETH Zurich.

The event organizer also celebrated the premiere of the special test area “Warehouse meets Transportation” as a success. Solutions for networking warehouses and transportation were presented on around 1,000 square meters. Exhibits included Blickfeld, Cargoclix, CHEP, enabl, Fraunhofer IML, KRONE, TIMOCOM and Ravas Europe. The test installations covered the entire chain between warehouse and transportation.

Guest event: IFOY TEST DAYS

At the TEST CAMP, guests once again had the opportunity to test the finalists of the global IFOY AWARD.

They included new developments from aluco, EP Equipment Germany, Exotec, Geekplus Europe, HUBTEX, Interroll, Jungheinrich, Logitrans, PLANCISE, STILL and Verity.Blickfeld, ecoro, enabl and Filics were in the running for the “IFOY Start-up of the Year” spin-off award.

A total of 21 devices and solutions from 15 manufacturers underwent the three-stage IFOY audit in the test hall. It consisted of a driving and functional test, including the IFOY test protocol comprising 80 criteria, the scientific IFOY Innovation Check and the assessment by the 26 jurors - trade journalists from all over the world.

After completing the IFOY audit, the manufacturers' representatives accepted the “Best in Intralogistics” certificates for their nominees from Jan Droemer, Chairman of the Board of the VDMA Materials Handling and Intralogistics Association.

Who ultimately won an IFOY AWARD this year will remain under wraps until the awards ceremony. The jury's vote is traditionally only announced by the laudators during the IFOY AWARD Night. It will take place on July 3, 2025 at the Phoenix des Lumières in Dortmund.

Exciting discussion at the conference

The accompanying conference focused on trend topics such as automation, artificial intelligence, sustainability and process cost reduction. Visitors gained new food for thought in the 18 sessions and panel discussions with international experts. Thematically, the sequences revolved around special topics such as drone inventory, transport digitization, digital twins and machine vision. Manufacturers of solutions, their users and renowned researchers engaged in exciting discussions, making the test event an industry highlight of the event year.

The guests also got into conversation with the scientists, testers and judges of the IFOY AWARD, who took part in the IFOY TEST DAYS (March 25-26). The organizer once again offered excursions as part of the event. Visitor groups toured both the Fraunhofer IML test hall and the automation in the DTM2 logistics center of online retailer Amazon in Dortmund.
